SEVERE WEATHER ALERT: Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Hit Tyler, TX

TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — Severe weather has rolled into Tyler as thunderstorms blanket the city overnight. As of 1:40 AM, the temperature sits at 75°F with an expected high of 86°F and a low of 71°F. Rain is forecasted to continue throughout the night and into early morning.


The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, warning residents of potentially dangerous conditions expected to last until 4:00 AM Monday, June 9. Thunderstorms are expected to intensify, with a 100% chance of rain at 2 AM, followed by steady rain chances hovering around 65% from 3 AM through 6 AM.


Residents are advised to remain indoors, avoid travel if possible, and stay alert for updates. Lightning, heavy rainfall, and strong winds may lead to hazardous conditions including localized flooding and power outages.
