EDINBURG, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Rio Grande Valley Vipers are stepping onto a bigger stage this season. For the first time in franchise history, three of the team’s home games will air nationally on Prime Video as part of the NBA’s new long-term media partnership with Amazon.

The nationally televised matchups include:

This milestone comes on the heels of an 11-year media rights deal between Amazon Prime Video and the NBA, which took effect this season. Under the agreement, Prime Video will carry 66 exclusive regular-season NBA games globally, with availability expanding beyond the U.S. to countries including Mexico, Brazil, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the U.K. and Ireland.

Vipers President Rene Borrego said the national spotlight is a reflection of the team’s growth and the region’s passion for basketball.

“We’re extremely fortunate to showcase both the Rio Grande Valley and the NBA-caliber talent the Vipers produce,” Borrego said. “Our leadership, the city of Edinburg, and our surrounding communities have put in the work to build elite facilities and an exceptional on-court product. We’re grateful the NBA G League recognizes that and is giving us the chance to share this love for the game with fans around the world.”

The Vipers, a four-time G League champion and affiliate of the Houston Rockets, continue to be one of the league’s premier development pipelines—helping shape players, coaches and staff for the NBA.
