RUSK, Texas (TXAN 24) — A reward totaling more than $20,000 is now being offered for information leading to the whereabouts of James David Blount, 57, who has been reported missing in East Texas. The reward has been pooled together by multiple individuals and community members committed to finding answers in the case.
Blount, a white male, is described as 5’09”, 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen on Tuesday wearing unknown clothing, and authorities say no confirmed sightings have been reported since.
On Wednesday, law enforcement located his vehicle on Highway 84 West at the Neches River, near the Cherokee County–Anderson County line. The discovery has intensified concern surrounding his disappearance, and both counties are now assisting in the ongoing search.
Local residents, business owners, and concerned groups have contributed to the growing reward, hoping it will encourage someone with information to come forward.
Authorities urge anyone who may have seen Blount, knows where he may be, or has information related to his disappearance to contact law enforcement immediately.
If you have information, call 911 or contact the Rusk Police Department at 903-683-2677.
TXAN 24 News will continue updating this developing story as more information becomes available.
