MURDER: Dayton Alexander, 23, Booked in Smith County Jail

TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — A 23-year-old man is facing a murder charge after what police say was a deadly road rage incident in Tyler.

According to jail records, the suspect was booked into custody on February 13, 2026, following his arrest by the Tyler Police Department. He is charged under Texas Penal Code 19.02(c), the statute covering murder.

Investigators say the suspect shot another man, Trevor Julian, during a road rage confrontation.

The suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
