Houston Volleyball Reveals Challenging 2026 Big 12 Slate

HOUSTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — Houston Cougars volleyball is gearing up for a demanding 2026 Big 12 Conference schedule, highlighted by multiple matchups against recent NCAA Tournament teams and key home stretches at Fertitta Center.

The Cougars will open conference play on the road, traveling to face Kansas Jayhawks volleyball on Sept. 25 and Kansas State Wildcats volleyball on Sept. 27. Houston’s home opener follows on Oct. 2 against Cincinnati Bearcats volleyball before a quick turnaround trip to West Virginia Mountaineers volleyball.

Houston will then settle in for a three-match homestand, hosting BYU Cougars volleyball, UCF Knights volleyball, and Texas Tech Red Raiders volleyball in October.

Conference play continues with an in-state trip to Baylor Bears volleyball, followed by a home matchup against Iowa State Cyclones volleyball.

A pivotal Halloween weekend road swing includes stops at Arizona Wildcats volleyball and defending conference champion Arizona State Sun Devils volleyball.

Houston closes the season with another three-match home stretch against West Virginia, Utah Utes volleyball, and Colorado Buffaloes volleyball before a regular-season finale at Iowa State on Nov. 25.

The Cougars’ 2026 schedule features 11 total matchups against 2025 NCAA Tournament teams, signaling one of the program’s toughest conference slates to date.
