HOUSTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — Houston football fans face some of the NFL’s more challenging game-day traffic conditions, according to new research comparing congestion around all 32 league stadiums.

NRG Stadium recorded a Traffic Score of 57.9, placing it 11th in the study by Betpack. The research used TomTom Move data to evaluate congestion, average vehicle speeds and travel time within a one-kilometer radius of each stadium.

Traffic congestion around NRG Stadium reached 187.6%, with an average 10-kilometer journey taking 25 minutes. Average speeds were not specified in the supplied findings.

Houston’s score was substantially higher than Wembley Stadium in London, where the Texans are scheduled to play the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 18. Wembley recorded a score of 39.8, with congestion at 32.9% and an average 10-kilometer journey taking 32.7 minutes.

The comparison shows why a single overall score does not tell the entire story: Wembley scored better overall despite having a longer reported journey time.

Nissan Stadium in Nashville topped the study with a score of 95.8, followed by Soldier Field in Chicago.

Researchers assessed traffic during each team’s final home game of the 2025 regular season, using the previous season’s NFL games for the London stadiums. Congestion accounted for 40% of the overall score, while average speed and travel time each accounted for 30%.

The findings offer Houston fans another consideration when planning trips to Texans home games.
