DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Charlotte Hornets pulled off a narrow 123–121 road win over the Dallas Mavericks, surviving a monster scoring performance and a late fourth-quarter push inside American Airlines Center.
Two Rookie Former Duke Blue Devil teammates on Thursday Night. Charlotte jumped out early, outscoring Dallas 33–20 in the opening quarter and holding just enough momentum down the stretch to seal the two-point victory. The Mavericks clawed back with a strong second and third quarter, but the Hornets answered with a 30-point fourth to close it out.
Knueppel led Charlotte with 34 points on an efficient 10-of-16 shooting, knocking down all six of his free throws. LaMelo Ball orchestrated the offense with nine assists, while Miles Bridges led the Hornets on the glass with eight rebounds.
Dallas was carried offensively by Cooper Flagg, who poured in a game-high 49 points on 20-of-29 shooting, adding six-for-six at the free-throw line in a dominant individual effort. C. Martin chipped in 11 rebounds, and B. Williams added six assists off the bench.
Despite Flagg’s scoring outburst, late defensive stops and timely scoring allowed Charlotte to escape Dallas with the win, handing the Mavericks a tough loss in a tightly contested matchup.
