Gypsy Rose Blanchard has officially entered motherhood, welcoming her first child, a baby girl, with her boyfriend, Ken Urker. The proud father shared the joyous news on Instagram on January 1, 2025, posting a heartfelt photo of himself alongside Blanchard and their newborn daughter. “Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all,” he captioned the image, which shows the couple holding their little girl in a tender moment.

Blanchard, 33, who gained national attention through the reality TV series Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, first revealed her pregnancy in a July 2024 YouTube video titled “I’m Pregnant, My Journey So Far.” In the video, she explained that her pregnancy was unplanned but expressed her excitement about the unexpected journey into parenthood. “This was not planned at all.

This was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood,” Blanchard shared. She also posted images from a photoshoot with Urker to her Instagram.

In August, Blanchard shared the exciting news that she was expecting a daughter. “The moment y’all have been waiting for... It’s a girl!” she wrote on social media, revealing her joy along with Urker. “Ken and I are over the moon and are so excited to start our family.”

Blanchard’s path to motherhood has not been easy. She was convicted and sentenced to prison for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, who was believed to have had Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a disorder in which a caretaker deliberately harms or fakes illnesses in a dependent person for attention.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard had been subjected to years of medical abuse by her mother, who made her believe she had numerous illnesses, including leukemia and muscular dystrophy, even forcing her to use a wheelchair and feeding tube.

Blanchard's mother’s death came after Gypsy Rose, with the help of her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn, arranged for him to kill Dee Dee. Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and is currently serving a life sentence. Blanchard was sentenced to prison for second-degree murder, serving eight years before being released in December 2023.

During her time in prison, Blanchard met Ken Urker after he sent her a letter of support in 2017. The couple began a romantic relationship, with Urker proposing to Blanchard in 2018 while she was still incarcerated. They briefly split in 2019 but rekindled their relationship in 2024, after Blanchard ended her marriage to Ryan Anderson, whom she wed while in prison in 2022.

Blanchard has expressed her determination to be a loving and attentive mother. “I just want to be a good mother for my child,” she said in an interview. “I want to be everything my mother wasn’t.” Despite facing scrutiny and concerns about her readiness for motherhood, Blanchard remains confident in her ability to parent, telling People in May, “I don’t know if anyone’s really ready to be a mother.”

Now, with her new daughter in her arms, Gypsy Rose Blanchard is beginning a new chapter in her life, focused on healing, happiness, and the love she shares with Urker and their growing family.
