UNITED STATES (TXAN 24) -- The iconic Girl Scout Cookie season is back, and in 2025, the beloved cookie-selling tradition is bigger and more innovative than ever.
Girl Scouts across the country are gearing up to offer a blend of nostalgic favorites and exciting new flavors, while also embracing cutting-edge digital tools to enhance the customer experience.
New Flavors and Classic Favorites
This year, the Girl Scouts are introducing an all-new cookie: Caramel Crunch. A delicious combination of caramel, crispy rice, and chocolate, Caramel Crunch is set to be the standout flavor of the 2025 season. With its balance of sweetness and crunch, it joins a lineup of fan favorites like Thin Mints, Samoas (Caramel deLites), and Trefoils.
“Caramel Crunch is the perfect balance of flavors that we know our customers will love,” says Sarah Jenkins, spokesperson for the Girl Scouts of America. “We are always looking for new ways to excite our customers while staying true to our tradition of creating delicious cookies.”
In addition to Caramel Crunch, other staple cookies like the decadent Tagalongs, Lemonades, and Do-si-dos are returning this year. While the cookie lineup changes every few years to keep things fresh, some classics like Thin Mints and Samoas have become so beloved that they remain permanent fixtures.
Digital Innovations: A New Era for Cookie Sales
While selling cookies door-to-door is still a key part of the Girl Scouts experience, the organization has expanded its digital presence. In 2025, for the first time, the Girl Scouts have introduced a fully interactive app designed to streamline cookie ordering and delivery.
The app allows customers to not only purchase cookies online but also track their local troops’ progress, find nearby cookie booths, and learn more about the girls behind the sales.
The app features a new “Cookie Finder” tool, which helps consumers locate nearby Girl Scouts selling cookies at local booths or through digital platforms. Customers can order cookies from their favorite local troops, further supporting the grassroots efforts of young entrepreneurs.
“We wanted to provide an experience that meets the needs of today’s digital consumer while keeping the spirit of Girl Scouts alive,” says Jenkins. “Our goal is to make it easier than ever for customers to enjoy our cookies, while empowering young girls to develop important business and leadership skills.”
Additionally, the Girl Scouts are expanding their online presence through partnerships with e-commerce giants, allowing cookie sales to be integrated with major platforms for faster and more convenient delivery.
A Renewed Focus on Community and Empowerment
More than just selling cookies, the Girl Scouts of America are dedicated to instilling confidence, leadership, and community service in young girls. In 2025, a renewed emphasis on social responsibility is at the forefront of the Girl Scout Cookie campaign.
A portion of all cookie sales in 2025 will go toward funding STEM programs (science, technology, engineering, and math), leadership development, and environmental initiatives for Girl Scouts nationwide. Additionally, troops are encouraged to use some of their cookie profits to fund local community service projects, helping young girls gain hands-on experience in making a difference in their communities.
"We are so proud of how our Girl Scouts have used their cookie sales to support important causes in the past, and we are excited to see what this year's troops will accomplish," Jenkins adds. "Cookie sales teach girls critical life skills, including financial literacy, goal setting, and teamwork, while also enabling them to make a real impact."
The 2025 Cookie Season: What to Expect
The Girl Scout Cookie season officially kicks off in late January and runs through March in most regions. Customers can expect a variety of options, from traditional in-person cookie booths to more modern methods, such as direct shipping and online platforms.
For those eager to get their hands on the delicious new Caramel Crunch or stock up on old favorites, the best way to support local Girl Scouts is by visiting booths in your community or using the new Girl Scout Cookie app. As always, all proceeds support the local troops and help fund important programs across the country.
As the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie season unfolds, it’s clear that while the cookies may change, the spirit of community, empowerment, and leadership remains at the heart of this timeless tradition.
So, whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time buyer, the 2025 Girl Scout Cookie season promises to be a sweet success for all involved.
