RUSK, Texas (TXAN 24) -- Mark McGowan, former football standout for the 2003 Rusk Eagles, was a victim of a fatal vehicle on pedestrian wreck on Highway 110 near, Loop 142 in Ponta, Texas.
The driver, 24, is reportedly not from the area and his name has not yet been confirmed.
According to traffic reports, Highway 110 was shut down at Mud Creek Bridge just before Loop 142.
EMS and local law enforcement agencies responded to the scene.
