DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — American soccer fans hoping to follow Team USA through every match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup may need to budget more than $63,000 for two people, according to a new analysis released by AceOdds.com.
The study examined flight costs, accommodations, match tickets, and daily food expenses for supporters of all 48 participating nations, assuming their team advances from the group stage all the way to the World Cup Final.
Researchers estimate U.S. fans would spend approximately $34,000 on match tickets alone, making tickets the largest expense of the tournament journey. Accommodations across host cities are projected to total about $16,100, while flights between venues and return travel are estimated at $6,700. Food and beverage expenses could add another $6,200.
Across all nations, the average cost for two fans to attend every match from the opening group stage through the championship is estimated at roughly $62,000.
The report found that supporters from Iraq would face the highest overall costs, with an estimated price tag of $74,000, largely due to international travel expenses. Panama supporters would see the lowest projected costs at approximately $56,000.
According to the analysis, the World Cup Final is expected to be the most expensive single event for fans, with secondary-market ticket prices estimated at roughly $15,500 for two people.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marking the first tournament to feature 48 national teams.
