FRISCO, Texas (TXAN 24) — As discussions continue about the future of the College Football Playoff, Florida Citrus Sports believes Orlando should be part of the conversation.

TXAN 24 News spoke with Sam Gardner of Florida Citrus Sports about why the organization’s postseason games should be considered if the CFP expands in the coming years.
Gardner pointed to the longstanding success of the Pop-Tarts Bowl and the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, citing their history of hosting premier teams, strong fan attendance, and Orlando’s ability to deliver a first-class experience for student-athletes and fans alike.
He also emphasized the organization’s track record of staging major college football events and said Florida Citrus Sports is prepared to take on an even greater role as the postseason landscape continues to evolve.
While no final decisions have been made regarding future CFP expansion or additional host sites, Gardner said Florida Citrus Sports is ready should the opportunity arise.
