CHANDLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — A local family is pleading for help to recover their missing Irishdoodle, Kimber, after a series of events that left her stranded on private land.

On December 2, a City of Chandler building inspector reportedly entered the family’s home without consent while no one was present. The unauthorized access resulted in the family’s two Irishdoodles escaping. One returned home safely, but Kimber has been missing ever since.

The following day, the family hired two independent professional dog-tracking teams—one from Burleson and another from Jacksonville. Both tracked Kimber to a large wooded property owned by Kenneth Cade. While the family was initially allowed limited access, Cade later prohibited them from entering after hunters leasing the land expressed concern.

Attempts to coordinate safe recovery, including offers to purchase liability insurance, were refused. The family also contacted the Neches River Authority and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, but were unable to gain permission to access the property.

Tracking teams have repeatedly found evidence of Kimber, including fresh paw prints and signs of recent feeding. The dog has even been spotted on multiple occasions but cannot be safely recovered due to dense terrain and restricted access.

“She is scared, alone, and hiding in survival mode,” the family said. “The only way to bring her home safely is through humane trapping, which we are being denied.”

Anyone with legal, rescue, or land-access knowledge who can assist in Kimber’s safe recovery is asked to contact the family immediately.
