East Texas A&M Volleyball Defeats LSU New Orleans 3-1 In Home Match

COMMERCE, Texas (TXAN 24) — East Texas A&M University volleyball returned to the Field House on Thursday night with a 3-1 victory over LSU New Orleans, winning 25-16, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19 on the Hunt Regional Healthcare Court.


The Lions improved to 8-8 overall and 2-1 in Southland Conference play, extending their winning streak to two matches. LSU New Orleans fell to 2-14 overall and 0-3 in conference play.


East Texas A&M finished with 56 kills, 10 service aces and a .255 hitting percentage while limiting the Privateers to a .136 hitting percentage. The Lions also recorded a season-high 82 digs and nine total blocks.


Ariana Brown led the Lions with 15 kills, 10 digs and two service aces, recording a double-double. Sediong Scott added 10 kills on a .625 hitting percentage and matched the team lead with five blocks.


Katelyn Pritchard recorded a career-high 22 assists, while Jade Washington led the team with 27 digs. Haley Mullaney contributed 22 assists, 11 digs and three service aces, reaching 1,000 career assists as a Lion and recording her 27th career service ace.


The Lions secured the fourth set with a late offensive push before Semaj Cox closed out the match with a service ace.
