ARLINGTON, Texas (TXAN 24) - The WNBA regular season is winding down, which means that playoffs are around the corner. For the Connecticut Sun, however, it means the franchise will be moving to Houston to revive the Houston Comets franchise that was responsible for the only 4-peat in Major sports history.

As of this season, the Dallas Wings are the only WNBA team in Texas. But Sunday night in Arlington proved that many Texans have not forgotten the glory days of the Houston Comets, as they packed out the arena in drove in support of the Connecticut Sun and Brittney Griner who both will be "coming home" in the 2027 WNBA season.

Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd and the Dallas Wings are among the top teams in the entire WNBA with 18 wins, controlling their destiny to make the post-season, whereas the Sun have had a dismal season so far with .241 winning percentage coming into Sunday's game.

The questions of the off-season in Texas regarding the WNBA are: what will the new in-state rivalry do to foster more viewership and which team will most Texans identify with next season.
