Dallas Ranks High in ICE Removal Rates Nationwide

DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — Dallas ranks among the top regions in the country for immigration enforcement removals, according to a new analysis of federal data spanning several years.

The report found the Dallas ICE district recorded 52.43 removals per 100,000 immigrants, placing it eighth nationally. Between 2021 and 2025, the district processed more than 4,000 removals from an estimated immigrant population of 1.55 million, one of the largest in the country.

While Texas districts such as Harlingen, El Paso, and San Antonio ranked higher in removal rates, Dallas stood out due to its large population base and steady enforcement activity.

The findings reflect broader immigration enforcement patterns across the southern United States, where multiple districts appear in the national top ten. Analysts say population size, border proximity, and enforcement priorities all play a role in shaping these numbers.

Despite ranking in the top ten, Dallas’ removal rate remains significantly lower than the highest-ranked districts, suggesting variation in enforcement intensity across regions.

The data provides a snapshot of how immigration policies are being carried out at the regional level.
