DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — A new national study from RotoGrinders places Dallas among the top five cities in the United States for watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup outside the stadium environment, highlighting strong local conditions for fan engagement, affordability, and viewing accessibility.

The analysis evaluated 343 U.S. cities with populations above 100,000, measuring factors including watch party culture, match scheduling convenience, and cost-related indicators. Dallas ranked No. 5 overall with a final score of 43.4 out of 100.

Dallas posted its strongest performance in “Match-Watching Convenience & Affordability,” scoring 75.0, one of the highest marks among top-ranked cities. The city also recorded a 51.4 score in watch party culture, reflecting established sports-viewing infrastructure and public gathering spaces.

According to the report, 55.56% of group-stage matches are scheduled between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. local time, improving accessibility for in-person and group viewing. The study also notes an average pint price of $7.00, positioning Dallas as relatively cost-efficient compared to several other major markets.

Nationally, the top-ranked cities include San Francisco at No. 1, followed by New York City, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C.. Dallas stands out as the only Texas city in the top tier of the rankings.

The findings suggest Dallas is positioned as a key U.S. hub for World Cup viewing culture, with a combination of scheduling alignment, affordability, and established fan engagement infrastructure expected to drive large-scale local watch events throughout the tournament.
