TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Dallas PULSE continued their strong start to the season Thursday night, earning a straight-set road victory over the Columbus Fury, 3–0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19).
Dallas (4-1) was led by outside hitter Mimi Colyer, who finished with 12 kills, including the set-clinching point in the opening frame. Sofia Maldonado Diaz added 10 kills and four service aces, sparking a second-set turnaround that shifted momentum firmly in Dallas’ favor.
The PULSE trailed for much of the first set before closing on a 3–0 run to tie the score at 21-21. Dallas capitalized on Columbus errors late, with Colyer sealing the set to give the PULSE a 1–0 lead. The second set proved decisive, as Dallas erased a 10–16 deficit with an 11–2 run fueled by aggressive serving and improved net play.
Middle blocker Lanye Van Buskirk and setter Natalia Valentin-Anderson each posted 10 kills and three blocks, anchoring Dallas at the net. The PULSE finished the third set with a .417 hitting percentage, pulling away midway through the frame to complete the sweep.
Columbus (2-4) was paced by Raina Terry, who recorded 14 kills, while Megan Lush added six.
Dallas will wrap up its road trip Saturday against the Indy Ignite before returning home to host the Omaha Supernovas on February 5 at Comerica Center in Frisco.
