Dallas Mavs, Head Coach Jason Kidd mutually part ways

DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Dallas Mavericks announced Tuesday that the organization and head coach Jason Kidd have mutually agreed to part ways.

Kidd, a Hall of Famer and former Mavericks champion, helped guide Dallas back to the NBA Finals during his tenure on the sidelines. The franchise thanked Kidd for his leadership and contributions to the organization, calling him a key part of the Mavericks family.

Kidd first joined Dallas as head coach in 2021 after previous coaching stints with the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks. As a player, Kidd won an NBA championship with the Mavericks in 2011 and remains one of the most celebrated figures in franchise history.

No immediate replacement has been announced.
