Austin Named Among Top 10 Astrology Hotspots in the U.S.

AUSTIN, Texas (TXAN 24) — Austin has made its mark on more than just music and tech. A new study shows the city rounds out the top 10 U.S. cities with the most astrology lovers, with nearly 60% of residents looking up astrology information online. That translates into a staggering 681,000 astrology-related Google searches each month.

But Austin’s interest doesn’t stop at the screen. The city is home to 27 weekly astrology-themed events and about 80 businesses dedicated to readings, workshops, and spiritual guidance. From crystal shops and tarot cafés to star-gazing socials, the astrology scene here blends seamlessly into Austin’s eclectic culture.

A spokesperson from Tarotoo, the group behind the study, said the trend highlights how the digital and real-world sides of astrology connect. “The astrology community is a full ecosystem where digital engagement meets real-world gatherings, creating vibrant local scenes,” they noted. “Cities with active astrology communities often see people using apps and websites as discovery tools to find local readers, workshops, and group events rather than replacements for in-person connections.”

For Austin, that means a strong online presence is fueling one of the richest offline astrology cultures in the country. Whether it’s through apps or face-to-face meetups, the city’s residents are proving that when it comes to exploring the stars, community still matters most.
