JACKSONVILLE, Texas (TXAN 24) — A Jacksonville woman is speaking out after claiming that she and her family have been harassed and followed by law enforcement in the days surrounding the search for fugitive Bobby Michael Dennis.
Shontreice Scott, a Jacksonville native, told TXAN 24 News that the harassment began on November 2, 2025, when her vehicle was searched with flashlights. Later that evening, Scott says she observed a drone flying around her grandparents’ home in the Larissa community outside Jacksonville.
Over the following days, she claims that law enforcement vehicles continued to patrol and watch her family’s residences. On November 5, Scott alleges that U.S. Marshals followed her mother after monitoring a relative’s home for several minutes.
“I’m scared for my life,” Scott said. “They’ve been watching us nonstop. We’re just regular people, and it’s traumatizing. We need justice.”
Scott believes the harassment stems from her family’s connection to Bobby Dennis, who was taken into custody Wednesday evening west of Jacksonville after a multi-agency manhunt.
