HOUSTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Houston Cougars are back home this weekend for one of the biggest moments of their season — Senior Day at TDECU Stadium. The #23 Coogs (8–2, 5–2 Big 12) welcome in-state rival TCU on Saturday, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. on FOX.
Before the game, Houston will honor its 22-member senior class during a ceremony beginning at 2:30 p.m., giving fans a chance to salute a group that helped push the program back into the national rankings.
What’s at Stake
Houston enters the matchup riding the momentum of an 8–2 season and a spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings for the first time since 2021. A win would give the Cougars their first nine-win regular season since that same year and extend their series lead over TCU after last year’s 30–19 victory in Fort Worth.
Quarterback Conner Weigman continues to be one of the most productive players in the country, accounting for 27 total touchdowns — tied for seventh nationally. Houston’s red-zone efficiency is also elite, converting on 32 of 33 meaningful trips.
TCU at a Glance
The Horned Frogs (6–4, 3–4 Big 12) arrive with a top-15 passing attack and one of the nation’s most productive quarterbacks in Josh Hoover. Wideout Eric McAlister adds another layer of danger, ranking among the top receivers in yards and touchdowns.
Fan Experience
Cougar Alley opens at 11 a.m., with the Kids’ Zone, Bud Light Backyard, alumni tailgate, and performances from the Spirit of Houston. Inside the stadium, DJ Book will keep the energy up, and halftime features the Lewis Jewelers Diamond Dig and multiple senior recognitions.
Kickoff is at 3:05 p.m. as Houston looks to close out its home schedule with a statement
