#5 Texas Tech takes home the Big XII Championship 34-7, autobid to CFP

ARLINGTON, Texas (TXAN 24) - The second half of the Edward Jones Big XII Championship Game at AT&T Stadium began with only two field goals by Junior Stone Harrington separated the two top ranked teams.
In front of a nearly sold out crowd that was involved in the entire conference Championship game. Missed field goals by both teams kept this game a low scoring affair for most of the afternoon.

A timely interception by Ben Roberts, plus the return, set up Cameron Dickey for an 11-yard touchdown run that was capped off with a two-point conversion that put the Red Raiders up 21-7 late in third period.
Ben Roberts set a Big XII Championship record with two interceptions which ignited the Red Raiders who led 31-7 with 7:03 remaining in the ball game. The Texas Tech defense let the conference and the College Football Playoff committee that they deserve a Top-4 seed in Sunday's field selection.
With the loss BYU is effectively eliminated from contention in the College Football Playoffs.
