No. 1 Byron Nelson Volleyball Wins 3-Straight Sets After 0-2 Start To Beat No. 10 Flower Mound

FLOWER MOUND, Texas (TXAN 24) — The early season top ranked Texas High School volleyball match between No. 1 Byron Nelson and No. 10 Flower Mound lived up to the hype and then some as the game came down to a fifth and pivotal set.

Flower Mound came out the gate hot and stole the first two matches of the evening in convincing fashion with scores of 25-20 and 25-20 lead by 6’1 Senior Caitlyn Axton. The Palm Beach Atlantic commit held down the middle as the Jags made their runs early.

Byron Nelson never looked rattled in the 3rd set despite the momentum residing with the home team. Their poise paid off as the resilient ball club chipped away at the Jags and claimed the following two sets (25-20, 26-24) to even the match at 2-2.

As the fifth set began, both teams were locked in and fighting for every point. The top ranked Bobcats found a way to pull off a 15-13 win in the final set and take home the victory.
