HOUSTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Houston Texans officially signed second-round draft pick Marlin Klein on Wednesday after selecting the former Michigan Wolverines football standout with the 59th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Klein brings size and versatility to Houston’s offense after developing into a reliable target during his collegiate career at Michigan. The tight end is expected to compete for immediate playing time as the Texans continue adding depth around quarterback C.J. Stroud heading into the 2026 season.

The Texans have focused heavily on offensive weapons during the offseason, and Klein’s ability to contribute both as a blocker and pass catcher made him a strong fit for Houston’s offensive system.

Houston rookies are scheduled to continue offseason workouts and minicamp activities in the coming weeks before training camp begins later this summer.
