TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) - Episode 3 takes a more measured approach compared to the earlier installments. While the opening leans again into the history of bowling, it doesn’t quite deliver the same impact as previous episodes.
Where the episode excels is in its character development. Simo remains a presence, but the spotlight shifts more toward EJ Tackett, offering a deeper look into his journey. The inclusion of bowling legend Pete Weber adds credibility and historical weight, tying past and present together effectively.
The setting remains strong, continuing to ground the series in authentic environments. However, the plot structure feels less dynamic, contributing to a slower overall pace.
Stylistically, the episode is solid but not as sharp as earlier ones. The pacing and tone feel more subdued, which may not resonate as strongly with viewers expecting the same intensity.
Even so, Episode 3 serves an important purpose—it deepens the narrative and provides context for key figures, even if it sacrifices some momentum along the way.
