ARLINGTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Dallas Wings matched a franchise record with their sixth consecutive victory Sunday night, defeating the Los Angeles Sparks 90-82 at College Park Center to improve to 17-8 on the season.
Paige Bueckers led Dallas with 25 points and five assists, knocking down key baskets during a decisive fourth-quarter run before exiting late after a hard collision. Arike Ogunbowale added 20 points, including six crucial points in the closing minutes to help seal the victory.
The Wings shot 49% (34-of-69) from the field and matched the Sparks with 49% shooting, but capitalized with timely scoring and defensive stops down the stretch. Dallas also forced 13 Los Angeles turnovers while recording 25 rebounds.
Los Angeles, playing without leading scorer Kelsey Plum, was paced by Dearica Hamby, who finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Nneka Ogwumike added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
The game remained close entering the final quarter before Bueckers sparked a decisive run with a three-pointer, giving Dallas the separation it needed. Ogunbowale then delivered in the closing minutes as the Wings held off every Sparks rally.
With the victory, Dallas continues one of the WNBA’s hottest streaks and carries significant momentum into its next matchup against the New York Liberty.
