ARLINGTON, Texas (TXAN 24) - The Dallas Wings returned to action against Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday night at College Park Center after the All-Star Break in Chicago, Illinois.

Paige Bueckers, Jessica Shepard and Azzi Fudd represented the Dallas Wings over the All-Star weekend. Azzi Fudd became the first rookie in league history to win the 3-Point Contest. During the All-Star Game Jessica Shepard and Team Spoon took home the win over Paige Bueckers and Team Coop with a score of 129-122.

With the WNBA Playoffs less than 60 days away, the stakes for tonight's game were obvious.

The Dallas Wings came out the gates hot and held the lead for an overwhelming part of this game. Azzi Fudd was at full tilt on both ends of the floor—getting steals and getting buckets.

The Atlanta Dream were able to hang around for most of this contest because of their ability to convert at the charity stripe.

As the game trickled down to the final seconds, the Dream were squarely in a position to complete a comeback and steal the game from the Dallas Wings.

  • Dallas led 81–78 late before Atlanta closed the game with the final four points.

  • Allisha Gray led the Dream with 29 points, including the go-ahead free throws in the closing seconds.

  • The loss completed a regular-season sweep for Atlanta over Dallas.

It was a tough one for the Wings, who were just seconds away from picking up another win before Atlanta’s late-game execution turned the game around.

Final Score:

Atlanta Dream - 82

Dallas Wings - 81
