DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Dallas Wings returned to American Airlines Center for the first time after a successful 4-0 road trip and gave the home crowd another reason to celebrate Sunday night, defeating the Chicago Sky 96-91 in front of 13,236 fans.
The victory extended Dallas' winning streak to five games and improved the Wings to 16-8 entering the WNBA All-Star break, strengthening their position near the top of the league's playoff race.
The atmosphere inside American Airlines Center was electric from tip-off to the final buzzer as fans welcomed the Wings back home. The crowd remained engaged throughout the game, erupting after key defensive stops and clutch baskets during Dallas' fourth-quarter comeback.
Dallas erased a seven-point deficit entering the final period, using timely shooting and defense to outscore Chicago down the stretch. Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 22 points and 11 assists, recording another double-double. Jessica Shepard added 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Arike Ogunbowale finished with 17 points. Azzi Fudd chipped in 16 points, including a clutch three-pointer late in the fourth quarter, and Li Yueru recorded a double-double with 10 points and a season-high 10 rebounds while helping slow Chicago's Kamilla Cardoso in the second half.
Chicago was led by Kamilla Cardoso, who finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds after a strong start before Dallas adjusted defensively.
With momentum on their side and one of the league's hottest winning streaks, the Wings now head into the All-Star break confident as they continue their push toward the 2026 WNBA Playoffs.
